Open the reel or post in Instagram, tap the share icon and choose Copy link.
Drop the link into the box on the home page. The Paste button reads your clipboard where the browser allows it.
Preview what came back, then hit Save. Carousels list every slide separately.
No magic, and no logging in. Here is the whole chain.
Your link is reduced to its shortcode, the short ID between /p/, /reel/ or /tv/ and the next slash. Everything else, including tracking parameters, is discarded.
The server requests the post's public embed data, the same information Instagram hands any browser that loads an embedded post. No account, cookie or session is involved.
The media URL points at Instagram's own CDN. The file is passed straight through to your browser as it downloads. Nothing is saved on the server at any point.
Safari treats an MP4 as a file, so it lands in Files → Downloads. Open it there and use Share → Save Video to move it into Photos. Full iPhone guide.

The file goes to your normal downloads folder. Nothing else to do.
Stories, highlights and posts from private accounts are only visible to a logged-in session. This tool never logs in, so it cannot reach them.
A deleted, archived or region-blocked post returns no media even though the link still looks valid.
Instagram's built-in browser blocks file downloads. Open the page in Chrome, Safari or Firefox instead.
